“There’s a place in the exact geographical center of Europe, which houses one of the finest cultures in the world for wine and gastronomy. ……. In this very special region, called Friuli Venezia Giulia, there are several hilly areas, beautiful and idyllic, these are the places where they produce some of the best wines in the world.”.

With these words the New Yorker writer Fred Plotkin explains the title of his book, “La Terra Fortunata”, a bestseller in which he explains the wonders of our land. We like to think that among those “best in the world” wines he also mentiones the Ramandolo. But the “lucky land” (to be exact, the territory of the Torre and Cornappo valleys) it is a land, which offers in addition to wines, many other specialities, which are worth tasting and (why not?) buying for taking home.
